Creative Aging Mid-South

works to improve quality of life for

Mid-South elders by providing access to experiences in the arts.

To accomplish that, we hire local professional artists to present high quality performances and workshops for older adults where they live and meet. Most performances and workshops take place in nursing homes, retirement communities, senior centers, and adult day care facilities.

In 2011 Creative Aging Mid-South presented 540 programs.

Most of them are hour-long musical performances  with some of Memphis’ favorite musicians including, among many others,

Joyce Cobb, Lily Afshar,  Breeze Cayolle, Earl Randle,

the Beverly Brothers, and Alfred Rudd.

Other arts programs include multi-session workshops in weaving, handbuilt ceramics, creative writing, and poetry.
