Creative Aging

Creative Aging enhances the quality of life for Mid-South seniors by stimulating their minds, creativity and sense of self through arts programs that engage, educate and entertain.

Who We Are

Why We Do

Older adults are important community members whose lives should be filled with joy and connection. Music and arts experiences promote cognitive vitality, reduce isolation, and provide opportunities for community engagement. Creative Aging's high-quality, professional arts programming has a visible, positive impact on seniors’ well-being.

Aging and the Arts

Our Testimonials

By taking this course I had a dream fulfilled!

Debbie- Studio Participant, Beginner Ballet at Collage Dance Collective

Earl is not only a fabulous singer, but a great songwriter. What I really like about him is I can understand every word he says. We feel like we have a relationship with the artists and feel they care about us.

Dorothy Hirsh, participant

I truly enjoyed the opportunity to allow our imagination to breath and flow.

Everna- Studio Participant, Stories Project at Theatre Memphis

Growing older is not an exclusive club, it's a party to which we are all invited and we'll attend someday. I'll do my best to help them enjoy the journey.

Rick Nethery, The Beverly Brothers, musician

It's a joy watching my residents' faces as they pat their feet and sing along with familiar music. The residents love Breeze [Cayolle]!

Activity Director, Highland Meadows

I was surprised to find that I'm not too old to learn something new!

Sandra- Studio Participant, Dulcimer at the Pickering Center

Ms. Jewel [Jones] was able to interact with the residents and for the first time, they were up dancing and enjoying themselves. She made them feel really good about themselves.

Activity Director, Graceland Gardens

All the programs are uplifting and the classes show us how much we can really do.
