This Intro to Flamenco series provides absolute beginners with an introduction to the basics of Flamenco-style dance movements in a fun, welcoming, non-competitive environment. With teaching artist, Sarah Nowlin, students will view, study, and discuss the current AI exhibit at MOSH. Then the class will concept, sketch, and create art using various materials including disassembled technical parts.
Students view the gallery exhibit, learn about the processes used today for the creation of AI art, discuss personal opinions regarding the use of AI in our world and in art. Students will explore ways to reflect these personal ideas within artwork that incorporates both technical and tactile elements. All supplies provided.

That’s a signpost up ahead…your next stop is The Twilight Zone Studies! In this six-week course, instructor Aaron Brame and participants will examine the cultural and literary significance of Rod Serling’s groundbreaking anthology television series, The Twilight Zone, through six of its most affecting episodes.
We will view a classic episode from the series in each class and hold lively conversations about the themes, subject matter, and conflicts in the narratives. Along the way, we will read relevant texts to complement the episodes and to enrich our class discussions and activities. We will read scripts of the episodes and essays from other Twilight Zone scholars, as well as historical texts from the time period that shed light on the cultural anxieties that Serling pinpointed so powerfully in his art.
This class will meet on Mondays from 1-3pm at the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library on 4.10, 4.17, 4.24; 5.1, 5.15, 5.22. Please note that there will be no class on 5.8.

In this five-week course students will work with teaching artist Debbie Lovett to practice basic clay skills, learning how to roll out clay and form it into functional vessels. The class will create finished pieces that are fired off-site and returned for glazing and final steps.
